Which Fillers Last The Longest?
- Posted on: Apr 16 2019
If you’re just trying fillers for the first time, you could go one of two ways. Some new patients are confident and come in, sit down, and let us get right to work. Other people are the complete opposite! Some patients come in with a million questions about fillers that they give us a good reminder of all we know! No matter which type of person you are, there are some basics you should know about fillers.
The Filler You Choose
Many fillers use Hyaluronic acid as their active ingredient, and how long each filler will last under your skin will depend on which you decide on. Hyaluronic acid fillers are used to add volume to cheeks and lips, and they’re also a perfect choice when you want to hide smile lines and other deep-set wrinkles in the face. Your results will generally last from six to twenty four months with these fillers.
Calcium Hydroxylapatite increases collagen production in the skin, lifting and plumping the skin so the surface is more smooth. Fillers that use Calcium Hydroxylapatite are often used to increase volume and give the cheeks a boost. These fillers can even be used to reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds. This type of filler can last from twelve to eighteen months under the skin.
To complicate things further, the provider you see for your fillers can affect how long your fillers last, whether they’re located in the face or another part of the body (like the hands). If they aren’t as careful as they should be, or unfamiliar with new fillers, they may place them incorrectly, leaving you with subpar results. We recommend doing your research, finding a provider you trust, and sticking with the same provider who can get to know you and your preferences.
